KITE FEST

Sunny with temperatures in the high seventies meant it was time for the Roberts to hit the road and enjoy the outdoors. We took the young man to Herman Park for the first annual Kite Festival, amazing weather and great festivities! Parking is always a nightmare in the Herman Park area; we didn't let that stop us. We strolled all through the park soaking in some Vit-D checking out everything the SHARKS had to offer. The festival was put on by recreational kite flyers, pretty cool. There were tons of creative kites, lots of kids activities, stilts peeps, and food. I sure enjoyed this family outing. As we are walking around checking things out Maddox decides that he wants to try out the parachute. We go down the hill and get in the (super short) line. The volunteer connected Maddox to the chute and it was time for him to take off. He made it approx. 15 feet before stopping, turning around and crying like he was severely injured. No injury though. He just changed his mind about doing it. NOT OK! Maddox was a big challenge today. He fussed, wined, complained, disobeyed and was disrespectful many times. I don't know what got into him but I am glad that I am not the lady with a whiny kid every day; I would lose my mind. Hopefully tomorrow is a much better day.

Heading the outlet mall before going home only made sense. Nick was on the hunt for kicks at a discounted price. Maddox and I had no luck finding shoes but it sure was fun to look. After a little shopping we met with the H-town family for dinner. It was a long trip home, for Nick anyway, Madman and I slept.

In conclusion it was a beautiful day that was spent in the best way possible, with my boys.
