Road tripping it to TN was the idea of my fiancé. I was not overly excited about conquering this with a three year old but I figured I would be a good sport; I am glad I was. The trip was perfect. We spent a night in Birmingham, Alabama before finishing the trip with three hours left on the road.

Maddox wanted his nails painted since I was painting mine. I told him to show me the peace sign so I could take a pic. He must think this finger gives peace |
We arrived to Nana Banana's house by lunch time. Boy were we excited! This trip we were actually able to squeeze all of the family and TN friends in. We had a busy schedule but it was so much fun.
Nana has a yard that's perfect for exploring and enjoying the spring air of TN. The weather was PERFECT on the first two days and got a little chilly after that, still great though!

We had a cook out over at the Landreth's beautiful house with most of Nick's buddies and their families. The kids played and enjoyed each other as the guys bragged about their amazing high school talents and reminisced over ridiculous parties. It was so nice and I know Nick truly enjoyed spending time with every one at once.

terrible quality picture. the kids were hunting for bears |
We made time for sight seeing as we drove to or from one of our destinations. The park in Spring City is really neat. It is on the relaxing lake and next to a little creek that runs through there. The lake was really low so we were actually able to walk around on the beach in spots that would normally not be accessible. Maddox had his toes in the sand (and mud) as we threw rocks and sticks into the water.
Wednesday night we spent the evening at Nana's with the whole clan celebrating Maddox and Nana's birthday with pizza and cake, amazing cake I might add. The air in TN is so light and beautiful compared to SETX air. It really is so beautiful there and I am grateful that we are able to go back regularly to catch up with the family and friends.

We took a bit of a different route home allowing us to see more beauty before crossing the TN state line. We drove to Covington, LA where we stayed the night. We had dinner at Don's-you MUST go eat there, delicious.

saying good bye to Nana is not an easy thing to do |
