ZOO LIGHTS

Nick surprised Maddox and me with a hotel room in the Woodlands and evening plans at the Htown zoo.  We had a suite at the Residence Inn that was only seconds away from the hustle and bustle. We tend to try different hotels each time we stay in that area and this was by far our favorite spot so far. It was such a nice hotel with all the amenities we need. Before checking in to the hotel we stopped by the zoo for a magical evening. The weather in Houston was very chilly with lows in the 30's which meant that we basically had the zoo to ourselves; it was perfect. We bundle up and managed to stay relatively warm. The zoo had over one million lights set up with festive music playing throughout; Click here to read all about it. The zoo is closed meaning that they won't guarantee that you see any animals; we were able to see a few though. Maddox felt the need to "pose" for pictures instead of showing me his precious smile. He threw up some sort of random hand sign each time I pointed the camera at him. I guess that's better than him pouting or not participating at all. After this we headed the Woodlands and had dinner at Guadalajara before relaxing at the hotel.

Maddox took this picture; I'm so proud.
