The fireplace here needs a lot of TLC. The ugliest thing about it was the brass frame (it had to go). This was such an easy DIY and so much cheaper than buying a new face. Follow these easy steps to update your old fireplace. |

Items you will need:
De-glosser
High heat paint
Tape
Paper
Towel
Gloves
First follow the directions on the bottle to remove the shine. The de-glosser pictured is a simple wipe on and let it dry, so easy. Next cut paper to fit each glass window and tape the being sure to cover every part of the glass, both sides. I only covered one side (not smart) and discovered paint all on the back side of the glass. After taping start spraying. I sprayed three light coats being sure to apply even coats. I let each coat dry. Oh! Be sure to remove the handles and paint those. Today was beautiful and perfect temperature that allowed each coat to dry so fast. Make sure to spray from every angle so no brass is left to show.
